Q&A
WILL THERE BE TRANSPORTATION TO THE WEDDING VENUE?
If you're staying in Seaside, everything is easily walkable for both the rehearsal night and wedding day festivities. There is limited public parking available in Seaside for those coming from further away. In that case, we would recommend giving yourself plenty of time to park before the ceremony as to not be rushed. There is only paid parking available in Seaside for those not staying in town. Uber and Lyft is available in the area, but not always reliable. Stay tuned here for more information on a potential day-off shuttle to and from one of the hotels recommended for booking.
There will be a shuttle running to and from The Lodge 30A and Watercolor Inn on Saturday, pickups from 3:30-4 PM before the ceremony and dropoffs from 10-11 PM afterwards.
DO I NEED TO RENT A CAR?
If you're planning to stay in Seaside, it's not totally necessary. There are transfers that can be arranged from the nearest airports, as well as Uber and Lyft upon availability. If you plan to explore the beach communities up and down Highway 30A (such as Alys Beach and Rosemary Beach) or if you're staying further down the beach, a rental car is great way to ensure you can fit it all in during your trip and not stress about getting from place to place. You're able to bike from Seaside to nearby communities: Watercolor, Grayton Beach, and Seagrove.
WHERE IS THE NEAREST AIRPORT?
The closest airport to Seaside will be Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP) in Panama City. It's around a 35-minute drive to Seaside. Another option is the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS). It's around one-hour driving distance to Seaside. Seasonally, those coming from Texas can sometimes find semi-private charters on JSX Airlines from Houston or Dallas to Destin (VPS).
WHAT'S THE DRESS CODE?
Dress code is festive formal—dark suits for men; mix of cocktail and formal attire for women, but feel free to add your own fun or colorful flair! The reception is partially on grass, so warning: stilettos can be iffy and block heels might be preferred. Weather is often pleasant this time of year, with temperatures typically averaging in the low 70s during the day and the 60s at night. We will update this closer to the weekend with more accurate information on the predicted weather and temperature.
WHERE TO EAT
BREAKFAST
Black Bear Bread Co. — for breakfast sandwiches and to-die-for pastries
Great Southern Café — for Southern-style breakfast plates
Modica Market (where the bride worked during summers in high school!) — for grab-and-go biscuits, deli food, groceries, and their famous to-go mimosas
LUNCH
Taco Bar — for tacos and margaritas just steps away from the beach
Airstream Row — located right on 30A in Seaside, you'll find everything from fancy grilled cheese to barbecue to artisanal crêpes
DINNER
Bud and Alley's — overlooks the sunset and has amazing seafood (crab cakes are heavenly!), downstairs takes reservations and upstairs deck is first-come-first-serve
Borago — short drive from Seaside, upscale Italian food
The Wine Bar — in Watercolor a short walk away from Town Center
Seagrove Village Market — been on 30A for decades, classic seafood baskets (get the fried shrimp!), very casual
